“We’ve learned a lot in 30+ years”

1986 With an entrepreneurial spirit, David Goodrum founded J.D. Goodrum Company and commenced business on Orr Road in Charlotte, NC. Shortly after inception, J.D. Goodrum completed its first local project at Presbyterian Hospital.

1987 – 1990 Finding a niche within big box retail and mall up-fit projects, J.D. Goodrum completed stores such as Paul Simon’s in South Park Mall and a large renovation project at Montaldo’s in Uptown Charlotte.

1990 – 1999 J.D. Goodrum ’s focus turns to a mix of private and public projects, including the local business of IBM providing the company with multiple office projects, in addition to a number of public jobs awarded, including numerous local school projects within the Charlotte community and surrounding areas.

1996 J.D. Goodrum constructs its own building and moved their office north to Cornelius, NC.

2000 – 2007 Focusing on private select bid and negotiated work, J.D. Goodrum’s portfolio increased to include a variety of notable local projects: Pine Island Country Club, Aquesta Bank Interiors, Camp Wagging Tails and Peninsula Fitness Center.

2008 New company partner, Jamie Yoxtheimer, joins J.D. Goodrum as Vice President to continue future growth in the construction market.

2009 -2018 Focusing on private and public projects, J.D. Goodrum’s expertise spans from renovations to new vertical and horizontal construction. Recent projects include: Pinnacle Bank in Ballantyne, Aquesta Bank, Romare Bearden Park, Mecklenburg County Sportsplex, multiple preschools locations, and many conditioned storage facilities.

2019 – Jamie Yoxtheimer is named President of J.D. Goodrum.

2019 – Present Continuing to pursue private and public projects, including  Community School of Davidson Athletic Complex, Harrisburg Park, and Moutain Creek Park.

Today – J.D. Goodrum is a growing company comprised of smart, motivated and skilled employees. Their reputation continues to earn them repeat business and recommendations from past clients.
